The search for the most creative and well-designed record cover art is underway. Nominees for the 12th year of the Best Art Vinyl awards have been announced. The voted winner will sit alongside amazing designs by Dave Stansbie and Audrey Powell for David Gilmour’s 2015 album, and Dan Hilier’s design for Royal Blood in 2014. John Jennings on Graphic Arts and Afrocentricism
Jennings has quite the impressive resume. He is a studied scholar and professor that has taught on several panels for black perspectives in media and Afrocentricism. This year he won a prestigious Eisner Award for Comics and is currently working on the (Harvard University) Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellowship for Spring of 2017. www.chicagonow.com
