Best entry – Toyota Financial Services for “2016 National F&I World Tour” pocket folder
2nd Place – JAWNS, LLC, for its thin and light pocket utility wallet and notebook (Dan Mills, designer)
3rd Place – Structural Graphics, for a lamp design with branded icons (Isabel Uria, Alex Bates, designers)
Daniel Ko, Brand and Design director, Toyota Financial Services, Torrance, Calif., won this year’s competition for a dealer sales incentive promotion. Ko’s project was a poster using YUPO® Original 78 lb. text that doubled as a pocket folder designed in a style reminiscent of old-time travel brochures. Vehicle sales consultants were encouraged to win adventure vacations to various exotic travel destinations. Ko had used YUPO Synthetic Paper on previous projects and specified it for its texture, strength and ability to accept intricate custom cuts. B&G House of Printing of Gardena, Calif., produced the winning project.
Second Place, (above right) JAWNS seamlessly integrates the functionality of a notebook with the utility of a wallet. A JAWNS carries your cards, cash, an integrated (and replaceable) notebook, and can even accommodate your passport. Printed on 58 lb. cover, JAWNS is water and tear resistant.
Third Place, (at left) Structural Graphics, for a lamp design with branded icons , paper airplanes and dotted lines. The design incorporated both 57 lb. text and 78 lb. text. The piece is made up of a wooden structure and base that holds the tension, and light source inside. (Isabel Uria, Alex Bates, designers)
As first place winner, TFS will receive $1,000 and the “F&I World Tour” piece will be featured in a full page article in the September/October issue of GD USA; JAWNS came in second place and will receive $500; Structural Graphics, placed third and will earn $250.
