Light, fresh and opinionated — Claire Sells, based in the UK, has been a practicing graphic artist for over a decade. Her specialties range from traditional, handdrawn illustration to digital vector art, design, layout, photography and even publishing.
Many of her illustrations are published in children’s colouring books, as well as publications like Grace Magazine, Boomerang Media, European Telecom and Lush Cosmetics.
What really grabbed our attention is Clarie’s Glean Digital Magazine. This is a bi-monthly web publication covering the south coast and featuring lifestyle, interiors, entertainment, style and fashions! This is an ambitious project, and takes a lot of work!
Putting people with people is something most graphic designers don’t do. But orchestrating a publication — any publication — takes a skills set that goes way beyond that of an illustrator or designer. Acting as art director, copy director and even ad manager, Claire is moving along, now in production on her fourth issue.
Thanks to Claire for joining this 19th edition of Designing Women in DTG, and we invite all our readers to peek into Claire’s work — specially GLEAN — and follow along!
