When is typography more than just letters, fonts and faces? When it’s used in the illustration process as bendable, foldable, curvable, and moldable. These are superb examples of typographic illustration
When is typography much more than fonts, type faces, characters and ligatures? The answer is, of course, when it becomes art. These fine examples of typographics utilize letter forms in space by twisting, curving, bending and folding the letters to illustrate the point. And, aside from the typography aspect, these are just great illustration as well

Colorful Type by Sander Rietdijk
This art is by Sander Rietdijk — and while it is colorful, it also uses some clever manipulation of the type to twist and turn the word into art. Unfortunately, this piece of type is no longer shown in his web site — which is difficult to use, and doesn’t follow web interface design recommendations. He’s a great artist, but poor web site designer!

No Lies, Just Love, by Jordan Metcalf
We love the projects Jordan Metcalf’s Portfolio. But these stripes give the typography a very ‘late ’50s’ look. If we didn’t tell you the title, then you probably couldn’t read it. You’ll LOVE all of Jordan’s work
! Also see Jordan’s flickr
