Must see: Steve Jobs pitches city council
Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs pitches his proposal for a new 150 acre Apple Campus to the Cupertino City Council. (Reminiscent of his famous keynotes.) This presentation was recorded Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Cupertino Community Hall.
“We’ve hired some of the best architects in the world” … “As Hewlet Packard has been shrinking lately, they decided to sell the property, and we bought it” . . . “It all used to be apricot orchards … ” … “12,000 people in one building!” …. “boring office parks… we’d like to do better than that… ” …. move in 2015.

Students design patch for final shuttle crew
Very few objects have ever been launched into space, but a few Drexel students will have the distinct experience of having their creations carried into orbit.
A team of graphic design students has given the crew on the final space shuttle mission something that the astronauts will hold close to their hearts, literally, by designing the special mission patch that will be attached to the astronauts’ uniforms.
Electric Art
ARE you kidding me ???? They called it retouching .. .but WOW … each eye was deep etched and transplanted onto the head, making sure that every fold of skin, and eyelash were realistically recreated. Freaky!

iD Tech Camps Debuts Graphic Design Course
iD Tech Camps, an industry leader in summer technology education, will debut new classes to lessen the STEM gender gap this summer.
Women earn a shockingly low 20% of bachelor’s degrees in STEM fields such as physics, engineering and computer science. Concerned about the gender gap, the American Association of University Women published a comprehensive study in 2010 identifying key factors that contribute to the problem: (1) girls’ low self-assessment of their STEM skills and (2) dry STEM course work that tends towards the purely technical.
