Walk into any design classroom, at any college in America, and you’ll see a comfortable mix of male and female students. Turn your attention to the front of the classroom, or down the hall to the faculty and staff offices, and that wonderful gender balance starts to skew. Travel outside the campus, and there’s really no balance at all.

      Strawberryluna is Allison & Craig, a pair of designers, illustrators, and screenprinters as well as music and film nerds based in Pittsburgh, PA. Allison says

Quoting  begins ... the correct way to spell our studio name is “strawberryluna”. All one word, all lower case. Full on. When it’s good, you don’t need to shout. Quoting  ends

BirdWatching is a new platform for women in graphic design, professional practice and career development. Their aim is to develop the field of graphic design as a platform for diversity and cultural democracy by offering a forum for discovery, growth and experimentation.

Linn Olofsdotter : an eye for detail

... part of the 18th Annual Designing Women issue

Linn Olofsdotter, from Sweden, has explored many mediums before solidifying her career in the illustration field.
      After getting her education in both advertising and graphic design in Europe and the US, she moved to Brazil to start up a motion graphics studio along with her husband and creative partner. More recently Linn worked as a senior art director at a Boston advertising agency.
