DrawIt vector-drawing
easy-to-use, powerful, layer-based, vector-drawing
Pieter Omvlee has announced DrawIt 3.6, the latest version of his easy-to-use, powerful, layer-based, vector-drawing application for Mac OS X. DrawIt is unique in that it presents the user with a simple and clean interface, yet packs an impressive assortment of useful, professional grade features.
DrawIt 3.6 has become a lot faster than its predecessor, especially when working on a large canvas. Also, memory usage has gone down and when working on large documents you'll see it uses about half the memory compared to the previous version.
Another important new feature is the ability to edit bitmap layers in an external application. DrawIt no longer has bitmap tools built in, but instead you can leverage the power of any other bitmap-editing application and combine the best of two worlds.
Those who bought DrawIt in the past for its combination of bitmap-editing and vector-based drawing will be happy to hear they are eligible for a free license of Acorn, Flying Meat's bitmap editor. It's a perfect companion to DrawIt, especially with the new 'External Editor'-feature.
Feature highlights include:
* Powerful Vector Tools
* Vector Boolean Operations
* Text to Vector conversion.
* Non-destructive Editing
* Support for Masks
* Core Image Filters
* Support for Groups
* Bread Crumb Navigation
* Pixel-Precise Positions
* Support for external bitmap editors.
* Supports for several Export formats
Minimum Requirements: Mac OS X Version 10.5 or higher; Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel; A CoreImage Supported graphics card; 12 MB Hard Drive space
Pricing and Availability: DrawIt 3.6 is available as a full-featured demo. A single user license is 29.00 Euros ($40.00 USD). Registered 3.x customers may upgrade for free.
