DTG magazine visits a favorite local font producer...
New Pictograms, and Gothic Fonts for 2008
This year's offering from Gerald Gallow features some unique and useful PostScript Type 1 screen and printer fonts including Art Nouveau Flowers, Quilt Patterns Two, Gothic Initials Second Set, and Display Gothic. We also have PDF files showing all the characters.
Art Nouveau Ornaments was inspired by designs from historic sources drawn in the Art Nouveau style. There is an assortment of ornaments located under the character set keys. The Art Nouveau Ornaments font is all in OpenType format -- and we've provided a PDF file showing all the characters.
Art Nouveau Flowers was inspired by flowers from historic sources drawn in the Art Nouveau style. There is an assortment of 47 flowers located under the character set keys.

Quilt Patterns Two was inspired by the patchwork designs used in quiltmaking in early America. There is an assortment of 94 patterns located under the character set and shift+character set keys.

Gothic Initials Second Set was inspired by the beautifully-written gothic scripts of medieval scribes. Gothic Initials Second Set is composed of 3 fonts, Gothic Initials Four, Gothic Initials Five, and Gothic Initials Six. Each font contains the upper case letters A through Z under both the character set and shift+character set. These fonts are intended for use as initials, monograms, drop caps or wherever fancy letters are desireable.

Display Gothic is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display, headline, logotype, branding, and similar applications. Display Gothic has upper and lowercase alphabets, numbers, and punctuation.

Blooming Ornaments is yet another of Gerald's wonderful ding-bat fonts featuring art nouveau style florals. Here is a playful assortment of floral characters for use individually, or as borders, and typography embellishments.

Remarkably, Jerry has added more than 138 new fonts to the Gallo collection since we first met him way back in the Fonts Festival of 1998.
