Paul is having problems with
Purple cast to images in PS

Hi, I have Adobe Photoshop 5.0, and I am having a 
problem with every image i make, and every image i open.  
Whenever i open or make an image, it has a purpleish 
tint, therefore hiding its true color and blocking the real 
images beauty.  
This is really annoying and frustrating because i dont 
know how the image really looks, if i save it as a jpg, it 
looks different than it looked in photoshop.....
without the Purple tint..... 
please help me with eliminating this problem,

Paul, if you're not having problems in other programs too, then it sounds like you have a GAMMA problem in Photoshop. (A hardware problem would show up in other programs too!)

Either your RGB Setup or your Profile Setup has become screwy. Trash your preferences file.
If that doesn't help, then you'll have to set it all up again...

Choose File > Color Settings > RGB Setup.

You should also open the Adobe Gamma program to set your screen gamma. Try this and see if it doesn't help.
