What is Batch Conversion?

Could someone please explain how to do a batch conversion step by step.
I need to know for a class and the teacher has not really explained it
so that I can understand. Thank you

Since I'm not sure if you want a 'general' definition or 'specific' here's the general:
Batch Conversion: converting a quantity of items to another format, or with a consistent set of modifications all at the same time, or as a "batch"
Since you didn't say what this refers or relates to, I cannot give you specifics.
However if you were talking about photographs, scanned into Photoshop files as RGB, an example of "Batch Conversion" might be to
* Set up an action with Color/Correct, Resize, Convert to GIF
* Use the action of an entire folder of files.
There are "Batch" converters like Babylizer and GraphicsConverter Hope I helped.
