[Can you tell me which book is best
for getting into Photoshop

Then, each month at least one reader asks the same question

That's easy: If you actually purchased the program and didn't download it from the pirate boards, I highly recommend working completely through the tutorial in the book. Folks, why go and spend $30 to $50 on a book when the one that ships with PS, along with the tutorials on the CD are so well written?

In fact when I'm breaking in a new employee I require they read the book before using the program, then go through the book with the program.

After that, pick up Photoshop WOW for great creative starters, and the Photoshop 4 Visual Quickstart as a desk-side quick reference companion. Both are by Peachpit, and both can be purchased through the Designers' Bookshelf at http://www.graphic-design.com/bookshelf/.

If you really want to dig, then pick up Deke McClelland's Photoshop Bible, also available in the Bookshelf.

I know some of you will have a better method... please share it with the rest of us.
