Tip #96 Tiff placed in PageMaker... Bad Resolution?

[ How come I get such poor resolutions of a TIFF file flattened in PS then placed in PageMaker?

My comments on TIFs in PageMaker last month brought a flurry of new questions...

Probably because you're judging the image ON SCREEN. You're only seeing the screen view (which is low resolution) of the actual high resolution image which PM will send to the printer at the appropriate time for printing.

Just make sure you save the file from Photoshop as a 300 dpi TIFF file -- it'll print just fine. Be careful to LINK the image to the document as opposed to embedding it.

Also make sure you go into the preferences in Pagemaker and set up the correct CMS (color matching system) file for your printer. You'll find your pictures print and display much better. Then make sure your color matching is enabled in your printer setup.

I know some of you will have a better method... please share it with the rest of us.
