Joseph Kling answers:

Well this one is easy. In PS 5.0 the Ruler Tool is very useful. I'm glad it has been added and that it STAYS after you let go of the mouse. Lines are also very easy to do. The fourth tool icon down in the right column has a flyout menu. Bob is probably seeing this tool displayed as the Pencil Tool. The flyout menu allows you to choose the Line Tool. The Options Palette allows you to choose line thickness and arrowheads, just like in 4.0. Also, to constrain lines to 45 & 90 degrees, hold down the shift key while drawing. That's it!
