Yes ‘Actions’ madness! The more we search for great actions the more we find. These actions automate many of the techniques readers ask about. Try : * Retro Actions 2 * IR Effect Look * Photo retouch actions * The return of Black & White * Gum Bichromate Prints from the 19th century * Floating Lineart
PHOTOSHOP MADNESS is where you practically go mad trying to find the most useful stuff for Photoshop out there among a jungle of bush-leagers, Rube Goldbergers, site scalpers, and domain kiters!
As always, we remind you, especially Windows users — be careful what you click. There are malware, phishing stalker and predator links abundant in many of the replicated sites these days. Whatch those little popups in the text. Just stay on the tutorial / content paths and you’ll be okay.
We did indeed find some links of note…
Photo retouch actions
Daniela Ivett (Saturn Rings) has an impressive collection of Photoshop Actions, Photo Manipulations/Retouching, Photography, Tutorials, Icons, Stamps.

Gum Bichromate Prints from the 19th century
Maxmilian Jaenicke (Rawimage, Germany) has a whole world of photo imagery and manipulation in his gallery. However, probably some of the best we’ve seen for adding a historic feeling to art — including a Polaroid generator — but of particular note:
This Photoshop action set including two actions (for up- and lengthwise photos) and a texture to emulate the look of Gum Bichromate Prints from the 19th century.
Retro Actions 2
These actions are by SD-stock — Resources and Stock Images Application Resources for Photoshop — by Divinity Photography in southeast Wisconsin
These are Unrestricted. Use them anywhere, for anything, but the author wants to see your results.
IR Effect Look
The Photoshop Actions “IR effect look” is by Hanyasatu from Indonesia who has some truly inspired works of art in his gallery. He writes :
For all of u who think that IR filter n modified cam to IR was too expensive….well u can try this one…maybe its not perfect but quite same to make IR look
The return of Black & White
WallStorm practices his magic in Belgium, and brings this unique set of actions for black and white! While you’re there, don’t forget to check out the glass sphere action! WallStorm writes:
Remember that every photo is different! What works great on one image may look bad on another so experiment!
Floating Lineart
This one is probably one of the best finds of the year. Floating Lineart PS Action by Joumana (Cedarseed) … the “tutorial queen” from Lebanon… takes one click of the mouse to obtain clean black lines on a transparent background. Who writes:
I still see deviants asking how to separate their lineart from the background, while there’s a very simple way to do it cleanly. I made this action for myself, so that it literally takes one click of the mouse to obtain clean black lines on a transparent background. I decided it was simpler to post it than to keep explaining how to do it!
There are always lots of spectacular Photoshop images and visuals out there! Share them! We’ll be back shortly with MORE Photoshop Madness … and please — BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SURF … but when you do find a great Photoshop practitioner, or a good Photoshop tutorial, please share it with us! If you create Photoshop Tutorials yourself, please post your info here so you can be considered for a Photoshop Fave!
Of course, some of our favorite editions of Photoshop Madness can be found in the legacy Photoshop Tips & Tricks web site!
