Content marketing start-up Uberflip has released a new infographic about the state of social media advertising. Given mass consumer adoption of social media, over 75% of brands have incorporated social advertising into their integrated marketing budgets.
However, the majority of them are not sure how to measure the success of this relatively new medium. Uberflip’s latest infographic illustrates the increasing adoption of social ads among marketers, the amount of dollars allocated to these channels and the effectiveness of these paid social media campaigns.
Neil Bhapkar, Director of Marketing at Uberflip says
It’s no secret that social media has been widely adopted and ad spend is increasing. However, the big elephant in the room is that marketers aren’t sure how effective their marketing efforts are in the social media space ... Marketers are increasing their budgets for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter placements - often because it’s the ‘in’ thing to do - but return on Investment continues to be a question.
- Facebook earned a total of $4.3 billion in worldwide advertising revenue in 2012. LinkedIn generated $972 million, while Twitter earned $288 million.
- 75% of advertisers and 81% agencies are already experimenting with ads on social networks.
- Approximately 14% of consumers have made a purchase after seeing a social ad.
