A few ways PR pros can capitalize on infographics
Karl Gude, editor-in-residence, Michigan State University School of Journalism, is a fan of showing, not telling. Gude, who was the director of information graphics at Newsweek for 10 years, says that at their best, infographics can provide a structure for organizing, planning and studying information and revealing hidden relationships. At their worst, they are link bait.
And while making complex infographics can take time and money to produce—and may require input from researchers sales personnel, database managers and designers—, sometimes you can draw the idea on the back of a Starbucks napkin and get by with the help of a single designer.

Personalized marketing drives buyer readiness and sales
Cross-channel, customer-centric marketing (AKA personalized marketing), the practice of tailoring offers and promotions to consumers across multiple touch points based on their past shopping or browsing experiences, appears to increase buyer readiness, engagement, and sales activity, according to a study by MyBuys and the e-tailing group.
Among more than 1,100 consumers surveyed: 40% said they buy more from retailers that personalize their shopping experience across channels, 41% said they buy more from retailers that send them personalized emails, and 39% said they buy more from retailers that personalize Web recommendations.
